Priti Patel... Let's just say I've done worse..

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Why would anyone want to defend her.

She admits it herself, her lawyers will be braced no doubt.

Stick on one of her own deportation flights.

BJ is losing his grip little by little. His unashamed support of first Cummings and now Patel along with support for contracts to dubious parties for all measure of supplies and services during this pandemic has broken through his Teflon coating. I’m of a conservative persuasion however his buffoonery can only kid the population for so long. I think he is about to start losing the support of the middle ground,

Only trouble is, who the hell is a viable alternative?

It could be that his interpretation is different to others. It is a bit grey. What exactly did she say or do and to whom?

As Boris refuses to publish the report we shan’t know until the Employment Tribunal.

At your suggestion I have now changed our performance improvement plan to include the benefits of the performance manager shouting, screaming and swearing. Then there can be no doubt the performance needs to improve

Mogg would be very eloquent. Starmer might struggle at PMQs against him. Not sure if hes the same mindset as bj.

Great post Cryst!
She has likely ruffled too many feathers and told a few overpaid people to do their job better and very likely in an abrasive manner.
Who cares. That is not bullying and given her position I doubt she has done it.
Bullying is a dreadful thing and trust me I absolutely know all about it sadly.
A few harsh words in the workplace are fine - Whitehall want her gone and they are trying to get their way!
If on the other hand she really, really has then she should be gone but it is doubtful.
And I don't even like her!

There is no place for bullying but what is not clear is why she lost her temper. Could it be that her Civil Servants weren't doing their job, were they blocking her, undermining her?

She should not have behaved that way but maybe the Civil Servants also need to look at their performance?

Yet the investigation stated she had bullied. Who is better informed, you or Sir Alex Allan...

Boris Johnson 'asked for Patel report to be palatable'.

Poor judgement again from BJ, should have fired her as May did.

Yeh. None of the above.

And Sir Alex Allan resigned to go windsurfing

[Link]

‘Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has condemned Mr Johnson’s decision to keep Ms Patel in her post.

“Yet again, the Prime Minister has been found wanting when his leadership has been tested. If I were Prime Minister, the Home Secretary would have been removed from her job,” he said in a statement.

“It is hard to imagine another workplace in the UK where this behaviour would be condoned by those at the top.

“The Government should be setting an example. Instead, it is one rule for Boris Johnson and his friends, another for everyone else.’

Sir Keir Starmer has no experience of private sector commerce. Sometimes things boil over in testing times.

I can imagine that the civil service are a right pain in the &rse to deal with. They’re lucky Cummings has resigned. Hopefully someone else will bring that ‘hard rain’ he promised was coming their way.

Like I said. Who interprets what bullying is.
The person(s) who said they were bullied. Well they would wouldn't they!
If you dont do your job the boss is entitled to pull you up on it. If you think that's wrong then your staff in years gone must have walked all over you. Bosses are there to keep things as efficient and correct as possible.
If you maple; say that you never upset an employee by telling them off then utopia was always your ally. If you have then that/them may feel like you bullied them. That really is the point. There is a difference between work place bullying and correct procedures on how to chastise your staff for wrong doing. This whole woke cant tell me off society is a rabbit hole that if we go down too far we will never get out of.
Proper behaviour is rightly expected but never being wrong or doing anything wrong is just
dream land.
