Being curious and morbid just bought A Journal of the plague year by Daniel Defoe, It was written originally by his father (I think) and was released by Daniel Defoe at a later date. Good read if you're into this type of thing and comparisons between then and what we find ourselves dealing with now are frighteningly similar, recommended read.

by my reckoning the Covid is 0.0000000001% as deadly as the bubonic plague was.

but i take your point about all the paranoia, suspicion and madness.

interestingly both diseases did in a disproportionate number of monks & nuns. Communal living and all that.

I wasn't aware the plague did that. Although I heard of religious communities being at risk as they tended to Bury the dead when no one else would.
I thought any Covid issue with monks and nuns would be largely age related.

Thanks for the recommendation, not usually into fiction but looks interesting seeing it's based on fact, cheers

Based on your discoveries and comparisons and also the current mood of terror, how long do you think it will be before we are back to normal. I don’t want to sound negative but I think we are years away from a return to 26,000 at Selhurst......and no that’s not because of relegation or anything club related.

Until all above 50 and medically at risk get the offer of a vaccine, no matter who doesnt actually want it. This should cut deaths and admissions.
Then roll on from 18-50 With limited rules.
Around August September.
Imo.
