In is his time with us, we had some amazing days with both him and Wilf, doing their magic. Had Ledley (I think) scored at Spurs after that amazing Bolasie Flick around two players, it would have be the goal of the season.
Yes he left for Everton but half way through the season, the terrible knee injury hes never got back.

What people dont respect is why he left for Everton. His wages despite how good he was never changed from the deal he signed arriving from Bristol City. He was a reserve there but Dougies team spotted him. BUT he never got a wage rise and so many players were getting twice he was. If Palace really rated Yannick, they would have mid term raised his wage in parity with team mates. They didn't so he took a punt with Everton and got parity!!

I personally state the board made the mistake as what should have happen and its rather like it now.

Now Neil Warnock is taking a chance.. "On potentially signing Yannick Bolasie from Everton: He was going to go abroad, but we had a chat and I just said come and enjoy yourself for a couple of months, and it should be happening in the next 24 hours, hopefully."

Good luck Yannick, thank you for cheering up Palace in your time with us, rather than this dreadful depressing Roy style of football we have now!!

Seconded!

Loved his style and wish him well, but he did bring in a hefty sum for the club.

I enjoyed yannick as a player and his song. But signed for nothing and sold for 28 million, wish the board regularly f*cked up like that

he was worth £30 million to have kept him by paying him a wage with close parity to Wilf!!

Probably one of the best timed deals we’ve done, he’s suffered injuries since we sold him and has then struggled to hold a place in the team.
Hopefully he can get back to his best wherever he ends up.

i love Yannick, one of my favourite Palace players, but he did get a decent pay rise so some of what you say is just wrong.

When we signed him (for £350k plus 205% add on) he was in Bristol City reserves so his salary would have reflected that and our position at the time (bottom of the league). It was a 3 year contract.
He would have got a decent promotion bonus in year 1 and a staying up bonus in year 2.
When he got a new deal in year 3 one of the issues was that his agent wanted a clause that kept parity with Palace's highest paid player and this was rejected by the club. Supposedly, things was never quite the same after that.

He was great for Everton initially, but unfortunately has never been the same since the terrible knee injury.

When he smiled the whole ground lit up. For all his flaws he was one one the most entertaining players I've seen at Palace in the 30 years I've been supporting them. Hopefully he has an Indian Summer to his career.

He was the one we never replaced. Townsend is a totally different type of player (not that there are many like Bolasie about anyway), and we went from being a team with a serious threat on both wings to only having Zaha.

Good player. Offered something different but I was never convinced he knew what he was going to do with the ball, never mind his teammates knowing.
But at £28m the best sale we ever made.
