Call me old-fashioned, but I don't like to see our skipper wearing gloves. Somehow, it doesn't seem very warrior-like.

I did notice that all the Burnley players were wearing short sleeved shirts whilst ours were all well wrapped up against the elements

Sofiene Zaaboub who used to play for Swindon quite a few years ago, used to wear gloves in every game due to a superstition. Edited by Willo (14 Feb 2021 4.13pm)

The difference in the two teams was obvious. One team wanted to win and the other couldn’t give a s*** because come what may they get, in some cases, their 120k a week.

Agree. No gloves. No long sleeved shirts. No beach balls. No pink or bright yellow boots. Players earning more in a day than I earned in a year. The game needs to return to it's roots. No substitutes. A bloke with a bucket and a cold sponge. Muddy, quagmire pitches. Heavy, leather balls. Brown, ankle high boots. Players being paid a fiver a week - and grateful for it. Just don't know what the world's coming to!
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Who the f*** cares if players are wearing gloves. It's been f***ing freezing. Such a strange attitude to have, 'our players are wearing gloves they must be soft and don't give a s***'. Running around and keeping warm won't make a difference to keeping your hands and feet warm. When playing footy in those conditions I'd be in gloves and 2 pairs of socks. Agreed, but the idea that wearing gloves points to a certain attitude/performance is ridiculous. We were s*** cos confidence is low/too many injuries/too many old players/manager insisting on a s*** formation.

If only not wearing gloves would solve all our problems.
