With all this uncertainty and media rumours, why doesn't he issue some sort of small statement.Along the Lines that we our happy with Roy and will Review situation at end of season.Or something along those lines.Whatever ? instead of his usual vague match day column skirting around the main issues.

"We are on target for another season in the Premiership, nothing to look at round here, but thanks for your interest."

That should do it.

Isn't that what chairmen do just before firing people?

The first mistake organisations (especially football clubs) make is to over-communicate. The more you say, the more questions it raises.

Look at the idiot Chairman at Fulham earlier this season, taking to Twitter to apologise for the teams performance straight after a loss, saying they had tried all they could to buy replacement defenders, exactly why those deals had fallen though, and promising they would certainly be signing new defenders that window.

Then Parker, who has obviously stressed the need for new players in private, has to front the media and try to limit the damage.

'Scott, Barry Sillybollox here for Sky Sports. How do your current squad feel about being labeled not good enough by the Chairman, after less than five games? Will it affect morale, confidence and performances? Had you told the players they weren't good enough and were getting replaced, or did you keep that one quiet from them? Will other clubs charge loads more now they know how desperate Fulham are for new defenders?'...

Etc and so on.

Hopefully Parish will continue to keep his cards close to his chest and run the business like a grown up.

No public statement for me, thanks. Keep it in house.

Well said. Its many fans that behave like children, expecting to be kept informed at all times. If Parish has his eye on a big signing for example the club has far more chance of pulling it off if we dont issue statements all the time letting everyone know what the club plans to do.
In all business you weaken your own position if you show your hand.

Yep, I agree. Parish is not only the chairman, he's a lifelong fan of our club. He'll be well aware of the need employ a credible manager when Roy retires at the end of his current contract.

Just let him get on with his job I say.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

a Parish statement like the OP wanted would have a touch of the Corporal Jones about it - and I agree just because there is no visible evidence for progress does not mean nothing's happening, Roy's replacement will obviously be uppermost in Parish's thoughts and SP clearly wants to upgrade the ground even though progress has stalled

Any sort of statement either positive or negative would just confirm the thinking that something was about to happen creating instability, why would we want that?

It's just not his style.

He is quick to go out to the press and social media when there is something positive to say but otherwise quiet.

And to me that's the right thing to do. If there is anything to say about the club the players or the staff that is not positive, say it in private

Mr Hookhills You never told us you were a Chinaman.
Crystal Palace have reportedly held talks with an unknown Chinese company about the possibility of a £220m takeover this Summer
The club are said to have 'rolled out the red carpet' for the prospective investor on a visit to Selhurst Park and the Beckenham training ground last month.
According to The Sun, Palace majority owners, American businessmen Josh Harris and David Blitzer, have appointed a US investment bank as advisors to help them achieve a sale.
The newspaper claims that the interested party's initial offer was below the £200m mark, although Harris and Blitzer remain confident of achieving their full £220m valuation.
It remains unclear whether long-term chairman Steve Parish, who owns 18% of the club, is involved in the deal.
Palace have stabilised in the Premier League following the appointment of Roy Hodgson as manager and last season finished 12th in the table
