Palace should have lost the Everton game by a swag but what a keeper we have. I really think we have four or five players now who are PL quality. A few more upgrades and a trophy of some sort is not too far away. "Dad was a Palace supporter and I've never forgiven him for handing down the mantle"

Spot on. Great keeper. Best since Nigel Martyn. If Hennessy had been between the sticks, Everton would have scored at least four.

VG is rightfully (just in front of Butland) our number one keeper, and I think he's a good shot stopper, but I think he needs to work on commanding his area. He doesn't seem to come and get the crosses that most keepers would.

Fantastic shotstopper, but not the strongest kicker. Wayne H can ping it straight into the opposition's penalty area - a big plus for someone like Big Ben. Also Hennessy is more two-footed and more reliable when the ball is passed back to him. Two fine keepers in my view.

Our Welsh goalie is not on the same wavelength as Vincente Guaita, would rather trust Jack Butland as a stand-in for our Spanish hero.

im one who not as big a fan as others of VG yes he has made some great saves so did Jules. for me his biggest problem is reading cross's watch him, times a floated cross comes and he doesnt know whether to come for it or not, I do feel he his very weak in this area, as for being beaten near post well the pace of the ball effects reaction time, so many keepers get beat in that area now days i wont hold that against him, As the best we had, Nigel has that, then Jules then out of Jackson and VG for 3rd but we have had some keepers short periods that was good for us.

We have indeed enjoyed watching some fine custodians over the years. Those you mention plus a few others spring to mind...Paul Hammond, John Burridge, Perry Suckling. George Wood anyone?

John Jackson - the best and bravest in living memory, and that in the days when keepers were fair game for the most brutal aerial assaults, playing with a leather sodden ball and gloves that had no grip !
I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find someone older than me. |

Jacko is No 1 for me followed by Martyn - difficult to put a No 3 but Guaita is up there with Speroni and Burridge vying for that spot.

Hennessey always concerns me and that maybe unfair but Guaita like Martyn, Jacko and Speroni never concerns me, that doesn't mean they don't make mistakes but I trust them.
