I wonder if Ashley was involved? Minion ""Mike it's the ESL group on the phone". Mike "Fantastic, hello it's Mike Ashley are you calling to invite Newcastle to join?" ESL "Err actually we were wondering if you like to flog our shirts, we'll get back to you about Newcastle".

According to the Telegraph (subscription only) The PL has decided to abandon it's auction process for the next TV contracts and instead will negotiate directly with Sky, BT and Amazon. I assume that they think there will not be a scramble by other parties so better to not upset their existing partners. Let's see what kind of a deal it will be I suspect the same or less money.

I couldn't care less about football in general either and don't watch any match that Palace isn't involved in, even England games. If a European Super League ever came about and was funded by Sky I would cancel my subscription to Sky Sports and watch Palace on illegal streams only

According to this ITV are in talks to buy BT Sport and make it free to air. I really hopes this happens
