you NEVER see them anymore

horrific, but very very common in the 70s, a badge of lust & being ' at it'
worn with pride by youngsters, showing off, but suprisingly I can remember these being plastered over the necks of rough types well in their 30s !

No, you're right don't see them any more. Expect they're disguised by tattoos.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I still give my Mrs the occasional one, then again I am very possessive. Sometimes I pee on her car just to mark my territory.

Pretty sure I’ve seen you doing that.

It’s a bold move off a bridge but fair play and good aim.

was thinking about my parents yesterday while sitting on my jack in my van(dodging work)
Laughed to myself when I remembered getting a slap from my mum for being caught with a bunch on my neck.
I'd come home from school wearing a polo neck on a hot day & she rumbled immediatly.
Wack !

pretty de-rigueur in the 70s.
(getting a wack & LBs)

Polo necks were a bit of a giveaway weren’t they? Put one on then and you might as well have carried a sign saying - I’ve got a love bite but I don’t want anyone to know.

true.

I also know a fella that had a load of tatts on neck.
Was invited to business golf day with Jap. clients so had to don a polo as they frown on tatts due to crime associations.
Naturally it was the hottest day of the year.
he suffered.

Same with fingering. (Micky Flanagan)

Not fingering Micky Flanagan. It’s part of one of his sets. Young people have moved onto an@l faster because of no fingering. Lol

I think plenty of us can relate to that. I miss snogging the girls from school, one girl this week, one girl another. They call it shifting in Ireland. You didn't want parents to see love bites but you'd be quick enough to show your mates.
You've just reminded me of Mark Stanley (we used to call him steps due to his haistyle, the band didn't exist) doing the 800m in the school sports day in lycra cycling shorts with a pair of socks stuffed in. He ran really slowly pushing out his crotch in a hilarious manner. Kind of a John Cleese walk. You can imagine the cheers of a thousand kids. Those were the days.
