Something really odd going on with this. No real specific details out there which has made me wonder if there are wheels within wheels occurring.

The Norwegians take a lot more fish out of our waters than we take out of theirs. Or rather did. That is the point. This hits Norway worse than us. Yes, some specific negatives for a particular segment of our fishing industry but overall, far more damaging to the Norwegians.

If anybody can contradict me on this, with links, genuinely all ears because even from trawling (bad pun intended) some Norwegian sites with the help of Google Translate, I am still hitting a brick wall.

Something very fishy (again, horrendous pun intended) going on here.

In 1967, when Polish mercenary Rafal Ganowicz was asked what it felt like to take human life, replied: "I wouldn't know, I've only ever killed communists."

Same here Matov.

Plenty of stories about the UK Norway deal being stalled but I can find nothing about Norway EU talks are they stalled as well in which case Brexit is irrelevant or has the EU been able to do a deal on its own.

As for Norway all I could find was that the fish they catch in our waters has a season which has ended for this year which is why they are in no hurry to complete negotiations.

All rather annoying I wish some journalist would do a proper report.

One more point

My understanding, and as always perfectly happy and keen to be corrected, is that the previous arrangements between the EU and Norway for fishing made a lot of allowing the Norwegian's access to British fishing waters.

Now that the UK is no longer in the EU, the EU are still trying to retain exactly the same access to Norwegian waters without having the British fishing waters to play as an ace card (I cannot imagine the Norwegian's wanting to fish much in anybody's else's fishing territory).

There was a quote in this article that caught my eye... [Link]

As negotiators met Friday morning, an EU official said the bloc won’t be leaving the negotiating table but feared the U.K. might, setting its own catch limits unilaterally. This would upset the delicate balance of fish stocks in the North Sea, especially mackerel.

“We don’t see a lot of impossible issues to resolve — we think there can be practical solutions,” the official said. “What makes the U.K. often stick to its guns is a matter of principle, it’s political. What we feel is that we prefer to have an agreement, because otherwise it would set a very bad precedent for the very sensitive negotiations on fishing opportunities that we face.”

Blaming the UK for sticking to its guns on matters of principal? Meaning it is not doing what the EU wants it to do?

Not even sure why an EU official would be commenting on this, let alone being quoted.

Something amiss with this entire debacle.

What is it with the French? Always angry about something with no justification. And now they threaten to cut off power to Jersey if they don't have their way to fish without proper licences.

The funniest comment so far came from a Government source:
"At least when the Germans invaded they kept the lights on"

Dad and I would watch games on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end, probably at the same time as Roy.

They've got an oil power station on the island that they will just power up.

Problem solved.

The French haven't been fishing with proper licences anyway and have spend the past few months dredging and taking way over their quota.

It's all a storm in a tea cup. They love to go on strike and protest. They will surrender soon.

France is literally the most petty bureaucratic country in the world and now complaining about licences. A licence is required to breathe in France.
It was precisely this kind of behaviour that caused Brexit. France wants everything for free. Behind the scenes the Germans have had enough of them, yet the government needs them for their EU project. The German people can't stand the French. The French can't stand the Germans. The French literally just want the subsidies. The most lazy corrupt country in Europe.
They seem to spend more time and effort protesting and making banners than they do working.

I used to put the manager's name in front of Red and Blue but got fed up with changing it. If someone cool becomes our manager then maybe..

Go for a drive in France and see if you care about the French needing a licence afterwards.
