Having not seen any posts from Dave recently I PM’d him to see if he was ok. Many months went by and the other day I received a reply from his Son Chris to say that his Dad sadly passed away last July. Some of you of course may know this already but many not so I thought it was worthy of a post. Dave was a very good and calm debater as well as being a nice bloke and one of us. R.I.P Bexleydave and thanks for your contribution over many years!

I didn't know Dave personally or have any direct contact with him, but remember him as many others will from his posts on this site. He contributed a good deal to the HOL and seemed like a decent fellow. I had no idea he had passed away and am sorry to hear of the sad news. My condolences to Chris and the rest of Dave's family.

How sad. David ceased moderating last June the day after I resigned and he never returned to HOL. I PM'd both him and his son and emailed him too but received no reply which concerned me as we were quite close forum buddies. I had no idea that he was ill and now feel very sad as he was only in his mid sixties which isn't that old in the scheme of things and is certainly younger than I am. Rest in peace David and I hope that you are watching the Eagles from your perch up high

So sad, RIP mate. Knew Dave, albeit not that well, met for a couple of beers & enjoyed his posts on HOL, had a great sense of humour & was a firm but fair MOD. Thoughts are with his family & friends.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
