It was 7(Seven) years ago tonight . . . Probably one of the top 5 of my moments of seeing Palace 'live' & because we had the 'Trouts' boss with us, we had tickets in the 'Arthur' right next to the Bin-dippers. So many emotions that night along with a great time before & after in the 'White Horse'
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Dwight was a hero that wonderful, uproarious night. I thought he would become a legend at the club....then we sold him.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

So many emotions that night along with a great time before & after in the 'White Horse' Me and the missus must have been very close to where you were sitting. The noise and atmosphere at that game was like the old days. There were 2 Danish tourists near us (one foolishly sporting a half-and-half scarf) on a football holiday who had seen a really dull Chelsea 1-0 game a couple of days earlier and had come to this match presumably to watch Liverpool. The look of unbridled joy on their faces after the equalizer went in and we erupted all around them with a deafening chorus of "we love you". They left as Palace fans...

I was in the Arthur that day. One of the best. Delaney's deft flick through ball a particular highlight.

My recollection is that our first goal came from a Delaney shot from distance which took a deflection; the second by Gayle after a break-out by Bolassie; and the third from a way-out free kick which Murray chested down for Gayle to slot home.

It was so deft most of us never noticed it

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |
