Leicester are quite a bit above us in the pecking order and because of this they are able to attract the desired youngster's, Sheff.U are completely stuck in the position they are currently in ..we can move upwards and did.

I don't think we over paid for Benteke. Perhaps Sakho to some extent. That's what players cost of that standard. Players that are proven, available and willing to join Crystal Palace would not be falling over themselves to join. Many clubs buy players that cost more and fail but we do not scrutinise them. Islam Slimani was linked with us. That would have been a disaster. Arguably Benteke and Sakho made us a lot stronger at points. I do think we should have better networking. Brentford have better recruitment knowledge than we do.

Now he is just that bloke who cost £££, gave the ball away to Vardy, and was always injured.
