This post has been merged from a topic called 'Don't like the new kits much' by becky Just a bit boring really. Nice to see the yellow in the second strip and the third strip has nothing to do with Palace! And as for the silly nonsense of a new strip every year.....

I had a few pints in A Croydon Micro Pub recently and a guy was wearing the third kit and everyone thought it looked great, even though the wearer was very rotund.

The third strip has everything to do with Palace as it harks back to the origins of the club. If anything Red and Blue has less to do with Palace than say claret and light blue as it formed the basis of kits over a much longer period of time.

Can I just add the daily Mail have ranked all 40 home and away shirts…our away shirt is 10th best and our home kit is 3rd best but coming in at 1st for home kits. So there is a pattern emerging here that the kit is universally liked outside of the fan group which we have seen is divided. I myself not liking it…it’s growing on me.

Our home kit is growing on me, initially I didn’t take to it upon seeing it - however, over time since release it is a creeper and after watching that review quite clearly it ranked as no.1 and compared to other teams you look at it through different eyes. Not in isolation or through nostalgic tendencies.

The Athletic have scored 9/10 for the home kit coming in first of all Premier clubs home kits. Comments across fans from range of clubs do not appear to disagree. Quoting from the article "Good. Very good. Doing something as unradical as tilting previously vertical stripes to a 30-degree angle shouldn’t really cause too much controversy but remember, this is football, where people are very stuck in their ways. But this looks great — perhaps a subtle nod to their old Thunderbirds-style sash design of yore. Nice and clean without being dull, and they even manage to make an anonymous bookies’ logo look half-decent. "
