Good mate of mine has just got the managers job at Hartford Athletic, basically the championship level in America.
Looks like a blinding lifestyle he’s got now. From Dartford to Hartford.

I`ve heard several times that soccer in the US is popular among the latinos, who are used to "futbol" from their home countries?

Yes, definitely US latinos love soccer, but mostly to root for their home countries. Like when Mexico plays the US, all the Mexican-Americans are rooting for Mexico. They follow MLS to a degree.

I've often wondered what would happen if the owners made a big push to sign members of the U.S. mens national team. Given the team colors, location and mascot, there's a chance that having 3-6 U.S. players on the squad would attract more U.S. eyeballs.

There is a precedent as we used to be the best supported team in the world as we had two Chinese playing for us and the whole of China became Palace fans

Too true as it's the same in the UK.

Many years ago I worked in a factory in South Wales and everyone who worked there had two things in common. firstly the hated the English and secondly they all supported Liverpool despite only being ten miles from Cardiff
