Well, he does come from Purley. His wife is probably a goer.

Yes. But you must pay your own fares

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Wasn't mapletree something to do with the police? in which case I won't reply in form to your silly comment.

This is the problem that has to be accepted with Wilf, He couldnt be more public in wanting to be elsewhere.
Admittedly Viera, might have some effect on him, but it would seem it will need quiet a big change in his mind set, and if he retains any doubts at all about why he should stay, it may well be the best for all to let him go as part of a deal that reflects his value to us. And allow Patrick, to develop a group of young players some with almost as much potential, if not as much , as Zaha, had and developed.

AFAIK there has been little interest in Wilf so far.
His staying for that reason is not an outcome we'd want.

For me the best outcome is for PV to inspire Wilf and get him motivated again. I think that's a real possibility. I hope it is anyway.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

If Zaha has any commonsense he will keep quiet for now.

If his big move comes off well he already told us that he wanted to leave.

If his big move doesn't happen he can claim that PV has talked him around to staying and save face.

If he says now that he is staying because he doesn't think his move is on and then a big club comes in and he goes he will look foolish.

So best bet is to stay quiet and keep your options open for now.

He's 28 years old. Is this his last chance to move? Will big clubs want him when he's 29/30 at the end of his contract? I reckon if he doesn't leave this season he possibly signs a new contract in the end.

Looking at the players we are rumoured to be after we are looking at alternatives to Wilf.

Wilf has had no real challengers for his position in the team and he has known that irrespective of how he plays he is first name on team sheet in my view this is one of the reasons for his mindset.

We have bought the kid from Reading and are after the Man City player with these and our other players we have an ability to make changes. Hopefully this will motivate Wilf to perform.

My guess is we will get no takers for Wilf even at lower price because of his wage demands. Hopefully he accepts this and performs to show clubs what they have missed

Shame

Did you used to go to the Railway, or before that the Painted Wagon? You'd be around the right age.

Would you take a Straight swop, Iwobi, Davies and Kenny for Wilf, i would

No idea what is going on behind the scenes with Wilf.

If I was advising Wilf I would probably be telling him to commit to another 3 or 4 years with us.I believe we value him far more highly than anyone else.

If I was advising the club i would be saying if anyone offers £40M+ then take it (no instalments).

If I had to guess I would be thinking Wilf is looking at the new manager, looking at who we have signed/are close to signing and wondering if maybe being the big fish in our little pool is far more attractive than being the tiddler in with the big fish.

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
