Olise won't be available until September following a back injury received at the end of last season. Palace were aware of the injury before signing him.

Can someone sort out the damn training so we can stop getting players injured before they even start the damn season.

This is getting stupid now that its laughable.

Nearly all the time now our players are getting injured in training. Something isn't working.

Ferguson and Olise were signed with injuries, not sure how you can blame our training methods.

But we bought the extended warranty too.

Are we not still inside the 30 day DOA period?

he's just passed a very comprehensive medical. If he's injured i would suspect it is a new injury (and hopefully quite minor).

Before you say we bought Ferguson etc he failed his medical at Palace - we identified the original knee injury. This delayed the transfer for 6 months. When he did sign the original injury was only meant to keep him out for a few more months. Unfortunately he has had 2 new injuries since

Fergie must be gutted. Just hope itís not Wyckham syndrome.

So with no Townsend, Eze or Olise at the start of the season, we have only Zaha on the wing? We need another winger fast!

And hopefully he'll get his move, so we won't even have him! We do have Ayew and Schluppy who can both do a job there though.

PS. Eze isn't a winger.

Why are you hoping he gets his move?

Because he doesn't want to play for us and we ONLY want dedicated Palace players.

We have already made two quality signings in just 2 weeks. There are still another SIX weeks of this window left (although less than four until the start of the season.

It is clear that Freedman and his team have been scouting players for the required positions for many months now. I will be surprised if a wide player isn't in the offing (a fair amount of chatter about Lookman in recent days and he's in the affordable category at about £14m whereas Pereira at Baggies is thought to be somewhat pricey at up to £30m).

This window does seem to have been planned by the club with a view to:
- reducing the wage burden and rebasing the wage structure
- making our transfer budget go as far as it can in a COVID affected market.
It looks like we'll be spending serious (for us) money this window. Let's enjoy watching it all unfold.

Or the injuries they pick up in matches aren't bad enough to force them off the field immediately, but reveal their full impact once the adrenaline has eased off. A great many such injuries would be reported during the week, and so appear to constitute a training injury rather than a match one. Who knows?

Either way, I'm always staggered by the number of people who seem to genuinely believe that training injuries are resulted from some ongoing, widespread amateur malpractice on the part of the club. Modern world I suppose, everything has to be someones fault.

Since promotion we have always been there or there about topping the injury table. Every season throughout the season often running from one season to the next.

Coincidence or issue?

Either way it has hampered our progress in every season

I don't suppose there are any updates on his injury and when he will be back in training ( I'm assuming he isn't yet)?
