Did anyone else notice that on every goal kick he had 1 or 2 defenders stand on touchline and passed to them for them to kick upfield Ö is VG injured?

They say hard work never hurt anyone ... but why take a chance?

Like erstwhile Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio, Guaita is not the best kicker of a ball in terms of distance.

Brentford did it a couple of times as well. Obviously a new thing but I hate it - we were straight under pressure every time

Guaita is a good shot stopper but very poor on every other aspect of goal keeping. We need an upgrade or Butland do show something in training to get his place.

I was relieved that we didnít try to play it out from the goal line too often yesterday and that PV is not too rigid in his thinking to fail to embrace a longer punt that bypasses the high press.

Did anyone see McArthur having a proper go at VG towards the end of the first half, presumably for poor distribution? Good to see him embracing the captaincy in a way that Iíve always thought lacking with Luka.

And I donít think Iíve ever seen VG punch as much in a game. While the continental punch has its place, it seems to have become VGís default option. Iím not convinced that he is in complete control of where the ball ends up and I can see trouble ahead if it continues.

I thought that McArthur appeared to want Guaita to slow the game down.

Regarding the punching in most of those instances I thought he was reaching over bodies on a whipped ball and it was the better option rather than run the risk of spilling the ball on impact.

Many teams have adopted this since the change in the law regarding goal kicks. Personally I think itís a bad idea but Iíve got no coaching badges!
Yes too much punching. Ok when itís crowded but there were times he could have caught it. Heís a good keeper but as others have inferred has indifferent distribution and not a play out from the back type. He was slow yesterday rolling it to the full backs when they had reasonable space
Still worth his place but I do wonder whether Butland may come through this season. To be fair a clean sheet is all we can ask of him. More pressing problems than between the sticks.

Yesterday was the first time I have actually seen him kick it to the opposition goal keeper so I tend to disagree. He isnít that accurate and donít get me started on stupid punches instead of catching the ball.
