He's the one transfer I have concerns over. I can't recall the last time I heard anything complimentary about him from those who watched him at Celtic.

The only reassurance is that we have been linked with him a long time so have presumably weighed up all the pros and cons.

And whilst the fee was relatively low, I still don't consider it any less of a gamble. Regardless of the general opinion of Benteke, he still got 11 goals last year, and has proven himself more effective than Batshuayi and others for a number of years, despite being largely useless.

If Edouard comes in and can only manage a handful of goals, then we have paid £15m to be worse off up front. Adam Armstrong seemed the better option to me.

Really hoping and willing to be proven wrong about him, but that's just how I feel.

He's got a big signing on fee now, so suspect he'll cough up. Presume all transfers are overseen by lawyers/solicitors and club representatives who look into these things. He will be instructed to sort this out in no uncertain terms. I actually wouldn't be surprised if it could already be sorted.
