When the Arthur was originally built, there was only about a third of the amount of seating as there is now, and the concourse at the top was designed to handle that number of seated supporters.

The lower two thirds of the stand was terracing with toilets and catering at the sides of the stand.

Converting the stand to all seating, but not upgrading the concourse to handle the extra numbers, results in the crush there is now.

We are now in the 9th consecutive season of playing in the Premier League, and since our first season, it's been a crush in the concourse and the facilities in the Arthur have not been improved. In spite of that, the stand is consistently full, or near enough full, on match days

I feel renovating the Arthur is quite low down the list of priorities for the owners. Any renovation is most likely going to be expensive and result in the lowering of the capacity of the stand, meaning less bums on seats and loss of revenue.

If people started to not attend games because of the stand's poor facilities, and a substantial number of seats were left empty, the loss of revenue may then cause the owners to start thinking of rebuilding or renovating the Arthur.
