Just thinking back over last few games and seems to me that whenever we’re on top and starting to turn the screw, Vieira senses this and makes an attacking sub. This in itself is not a bad thing but it does seem to lose our momentum. Last night as soon as edouard and eze came on it was probably Norwich’s best spell of match. Similarly against Liverpool when we took mateta and Hughes off we lost momentum too. Earlier on in the season, he made changes when chasing games and playing poorly and it seemed to work. Think going forward the if it’s isn’t broke don’t fix it approach may be more beneficial.

Its an interesting one. As on paper they are the right subs, and you'll be telling those guys that they have 10 mins to go and make an impression on the game. But it did upset the flow a little. Not sure what the answer is, if he hadn't made them we've all be yelling that Eze and OE are on the bench. And to be fair quite a few of his subs this year have made pretty quick impact.

From memory, and therefore it could be wrong, the subs hes made when it’s works are where we were being outplayed or dominated and then the subs made the difference. For me, it’s when we’re dominating that’s the problem as at that point dont change it even if right on paper. Tough to be critical when he’s done such a good job but definitely noticed this pattern recently. Interesting to see if he also has noticed it and changes approach!

Remembered another one. 2-1 up at Arsenal, dominating and looking more likely to score a third and he brought Tomkins on and we endured 10 mins of hell before eventually conceding!

He didn't cover himself in glory against Brighton either IMO when we had Mateta and Benteke both on the pitch at the end and no outlet. I really wonder about the way subs are used in top flight football at times and how long they need to play themselves into the game / warm up.

Possibly the most bizarre set of subs so far tonight!

Pretty sure he wasn’t brought on for that purpose!

The whole starting line up was strange not just the subs.
