Any of the older generation on this site play walking football ? If so what's your club & do you fancy organising a friendly ? I've been playing for four years now & surprised how popular it is .

One of the players in the local walking football team took his mate along who happens to be blind. Due to some absences he ended up playing and scored a hat trick.

I've been playing for a good few years now...really enjoy it. I'm the ultimate in laziness and play in goal at walking football! The standard has improved a lot over the years and there's a good social side to it which is important as Christchurch (Dorset, not NZ) has got more than a few people who have retired down here so may not know many people locally.

We've even got someone who plays for England over-70s. Generally the standard is very mixed from people like me who have only played school football and the like, to a couple of people who played semi-pro when they were young

I assume it's like in race walking (and snooker and billiards). One foot in contact with the floor at all times.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)
