I hope it's not true. He's lightweight when in comes to a midfield battle and only seems to put in a half-decent performance when Spurs are well on top. Just my opinion.

I agree.

Seems like a nice fella, technically good footballer, but lightweight and too lacking in any... ANY physical attributes for me.

Can't see him being of much use with his back up against the wall, something we need often at Palace. Don't really see him as a game changer, MoTM or 'heartbeat of the team' either. That's the kind of player I'd like in CM.

 

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

100% agree - hopefully just papertalk. We need a new midfielder, he's available = a lazy story.

As always- until the player signs on the dotted line - assume it’s the usual press garbage stirred up by greedy agents trying to find a new club for their clients.

2 Premier League goals in 128 games for a side that's constantly in the top 6, and nothing to speak of defensively. One of the few Tottenham players I look out for when they play us because I hope he's in their team. He was pathetic against us at Selhurst this year.

The £20m that's being quoted is a scandalously high number. There's going to be a lot of players who are better and cheaper, O'Brien seemingly one of them.

I can see why he'd want to come to us, I can't see why we'd be interested.

There are a lot of players who would benefit greatly from 5 seasons in the championship. He is one.

I don't mean that in the insulting way it comes across, but some players just are not battle hardened. Arsenal has a squad of them. They just don't know how to fight and add the intensity amd grit that their games need.

Wouldn’t fill me full of excitement, but he does have this strange habit of actually passing to a team mate, which is always a good thing and something Luka should’ve tried occasionally

I'm no expert, but I think he benefits from the Spurs jersey. Is he notably better than Hughes, or more useful than Eze, Macca, Kouyate, et al? I don't see it, unless he came at a bargain price.

I'm with the majority. Tottenham have a habit of producing these pretty ineffective midfielders like Ryan Mason and Tom Carroll - probably Skipp will be the next - who move on to other clubs and disappear without trace. With almost complete lack of creative ability and no defensive acumen, he's Hughes-lite

Money could be spent better elsewhere I'm sure..

I see in Gossip today that Aston Villa are willing to listen to offers for John McGinn. I think he's much more likely to fulfil your criteria. He's horrible to play against, does the dirty work and scores/assists plenty. You definitely know he's on the pitch: in the matches I've seen of HW, I can't say the same.
