No. What we do need is a better winger than Ayew and cover for Mitchell. If we signed two quality wing backs, then three at the back is an option. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (20 Jul 2022 10.05am)

No for me at the moment. Our fullbacks aren't attacking enough. And I'd want to continue with 3 in the midfield to give Eze some freedom

No, but if we did it would be 3-5-2, to protect a lead.

I wouldn't fancy it with Ward/Mitchell/Clyne, plus the fact that we don't have many centre backs either. My guess is that Ward would be one of the three if we did do it.

Yes of course we can, but probably not with any success.

It didn't go well vs Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final.

If we sign either Richards or Colwill then we will have the centre backs to play with a back three. I also feel that Ayew might make a good right wingback - I know he's not a specialist in that position but he's a very hard working winger that tracks back well, and if Mitchell plays on the opposite flank then Vieira will have the option of switching between a back three and a back four during games, which he wouldn't have if Ward or Clyne played on the right. The problem is that a back three system makes it very hard to fit Olise, Eze and Wilf in the same team. I can't see Eze playing in a two man centre midfield - not unless Doucoure is some sort of superhero - and I doubt Wilf will play centre forward, so one of them will sit out, which seems like a bad idea.

I can actually see it working with Richards in the back 3...

We have numerous wingers in the squad that would become obsolete in a 352 system .That along with not having ANY natural wing back types would make playing that formation ,for me , a nonsense . Its a formation I like ,but you need the right players and we dont have them .
