I can understand this approach and there's no doubt Arsenal can be a brittle side if they go behind in a game.

I would personally start Mateta over Edouard. I know people seem to think Edouard is the better player but so far Mateta has been the best striker out of Mateta/Edouard/Benteke. I also hope Ward isn't right back, don't get me wrong I love ward but he'll get slaughtered by the pace of the Arsenal frontline. I think the key is to go at Arsenal, they aren't really a physical side and us being too defensive would probably suit them. I would probably stick 4-3-3 and go for them

Swap Schlupp for Hughes and Ayew for Ebiowei and I agree with you

I went for Ebiowei over Ayew because, similar to Olise, Ebiowei offers more in the way of taking on players and causing the defense problems. Without Olise, we become a little more lop sided and reliant on Wilf so if he's marked out it's a lot harder for us. One of the reasons I think Zaha had such a good season was because we finally had a winger on the opposite with relatively similar attributes and that gave Zaha more space. A tricky winger on the opposite side stretches their defense more Edited by AshfordEagle94 (05 Aug 2022 2.03pm)

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
