Yesterday was my first trip ever to Selhurst. I live in Mississippi and am visiting relatives in Ipswich. It was even better than I ever imagined. The palace fans are the best and I’m hooked for life. Even think I converted my niece and nephew. Their first EPL match and they fell in love. Just wanted to share. I’ll be back!!

Welcome. You chose a good game to go to but don't expect to win every game!

Welcome to Palace! Were you guys in main stand block B? We had some Americans behind us who were living it!

Hi Dave I am really glad you enjoyed your first Selhurst game. I took my eldest son to his first live game at Selhurst a good few years back. By chance, their was an amazing American college marching band that performed before the game and at half time. It was a lovely sunny day and Palace won 4-1. He was hooked for life and even stayed loyal when we managed to get relegated at the end of that season. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay.

Dave, glad you enjoyed it! The kids I brought were Lewis 20 and Poppy 14 (she’s my matey). Lewis has season tickets to ITFC and Poppy goes a few times as well for the atmosphere. Heading back yesterday they both said they’re favorite EPL team is now Palace. I hope the town can move up and maybe get back to the premiere league. Not being able to see them on TV in the states makes it hard to really get into it.

The first match I went to at Selhurst, with my son, was a late December cold nil-nil draw with Swansea. I'd take yours above mine. That being said, my son is also a die-hard Palace supporter for life. Went under the "old" international package and had a chance to tour the ground, meet the players coming from the car park. The only player he didn't meet that he really wanted to was his favourite, Bolaise. We ended up in the Virgin lounge with him sitting across from us and chatting with him and his wife (and 2 kids). Great trip!
