That's both gloomy and untrue. There's not nearly so much but a clear winter day can be lovely. Find a sheltered spot in the middle of the day and it can get really warm. I have got sun burnt in Cornwall in February! Always look on the bright side of life!!

I remember a story of an airline pilot who upon landing in a far flung destination announced that "for those wanting to reset their watches the time is several hundred years ago" - he got into some trouble with the local authorities for that remark - Originally posted by Forest Hillbilly

I'm sure my Dad's friend had one in 1961. We didn’t get a car until 1964 ... it was an Anglia. Beg your pardon ... you meant skirt not the car. 1960s was also the start of the package holiday era.
