After 0-0 draws against Iran and the USA Southgate holds a team meeting about whats going wrong .
An almighty row breaks out about playing 5-4-1 ending with Southgate crying in the corner mumbling something about Human rights and can he borrow Harry Kanes armband for the presser .

The players take control , a new attacking formation is devised a sort of total football that would see high energy non stop attacks resulting in a 5-0 win against Wales and a renwed hope for the Nation .
Smashing Holland for 6 in the next round England become the talk of the desert , Someone spots a drunk bloke snogging a bedsheet in downtown Doha and there is a diplomatic incident

You cant lay on enough planes for England fans pouring in for the Qatar finals . Some come overland from the UAE where they have managed to pick up a few cans of Hieneken (3.2 ABV ) on the black market
The tournament ends for us though as we go out on pens to Canada after a 5-5 draw . The fan zones stop selling beer on the final whistle resulting in fans storming the bar followed by a demonstration of our other national sport , plastic chair throwing .

Southgate converts to Islam (may peace be upon him ) and is given a contract extension till 2026

And we still need a striker

I think talk of making the quarterfinals is a tad optimistic. With the so slow, tippy-tappy build up, we always give defenders time to organise.

I can quite easily see Iran holding us. The USA have always given us trouble and Wales will be hugely motivated.

The best I'm hoping for is the boot for GS.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

The Ghana squad is announced on Monday, I hope Jeffrey Schlupp gets a call up as well as Jordan, i will be interested to see if Antoine Semenyo is selected as i think he is going to be a top player, a Wilf clone and out of contract at the end of the season

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

Already been leaked that Schlupp is out, albeit he's been out of favour with Ghana for a while now.

ITV has started showing a trailer for its World Cup coverage. It's a series of flashbacks to moments from previous World Cups, starting with a kid sitting in his bedroom watching World Cup 70 on ITV on his telly.

One of the flashbacks shows 'that Michael Owen goal' while another shows Ian Wright poking a goal in for England and celebrating. Which is interesting given that Wright never went to a World Cup as a player.

This thread resembles reading predictions of Palace matches and future fortunes ... a bit of optimism here and there but largely one of doom

Not worth having any expectations is it? Hopes have been raised more times than Rebecca Vardy had Botox injections.

I really hope the new wave of England fans don’t embarrass us as we’ve seen before. They look drunk to me.
