I have a large cottage in Wales that is sitting unused throughout this month. To me that's a bit of a crime.

It sits on a Brecon Beacon and is 8 minutes walk from the top pub in Brecknockshire.

So, if anyone fancies a half price break, just let me know.

Ah, in that case thank you and apologies for my misunderstanding.

It is such a nice place and I would never approve of it lying idle as a second home (nor could I afford it).

Also, I could do with people there keeping it warm! It is right up on a Beacon, so gets a bit sharp in the winter but has a massive open fire and log burner. But when nobody is there we have to leave the central heating on.

The Brecon Beacons is the least populous area in England and Wales. The locals are friendly and there are plenty of incomers. I first saw our farmhouse in 1973 and always aspired to live there. We are, apparently, classed as locals now after 15 years of owning our house. The area benefits hugely from tourism.

The arson to which you allude ceased in 1994. Amazing how people continually choose to bring it up again.
