Today was a total cock up yes, but our forwards have been absolutely and totally pathetic all season and they've completely drained everyone's confidence and all we have left is frustration, changing the manager was not necessary, the question is how have we ended up with strikers who are nowhere near good enough and defenders who now should be playing in league one. PV had no hope of achieving success. True about the forwards....but you can't score if the team can't actually pass, nor move faster than a Slough or have such substandard link up play. Nor the lack of possession or creativity. These are all things that can be trained and worked on. Vieira, in my opinion, has been awful, and it's been papered over by how good Gallagher was for us last season. I'm not happy that Vieira hasn't worked out, I really hoped he would be something incredible but I don't think his backroom staff are anywhere near the calibre needed. Why Eboiwei, Plange and Butland were loaned out is beyond questionable. Eboiwei and Plange were both pretty damn good in the Championship and Plange can't be worse than Edouard or Mateta.

Despite that he’s the first name in the team sheet in the hope he might just produce a moment of magic. He had a mixed day today, hitting the post but losing the ball and giving up chasing it for the first goal. If he goes to a better team next season I suspect he’ll be used as an impact substitute. Definitely won’t get the game time he does at Palace. Here’s hoping he’s saved his best form for the run in before he heads to pastures new. I get what you're saying but pretty much all of our attacking play came out of Wilf bullying and beating Arsenal's defenders. He was guilty of poor defending and switching off, but without him we'd have had nothing going forward. Defensively today was far removed from how solid we were under Vieira. It was scary how bad we were at the back after how well we contained City. There was no sign of players looking happy to be free of Vieira. That's not Paddy's fault, it just says to me that the players were perhaps not on board with the decision. Players were looking at the ground, being unfocused, not chasing back, being out of position. On the positive side we got a scrappy goal and had some shots. I think we just need to put this behind us and Parish has to make a decision on the next boss within a few days, whether that be backing Paddy or getting someone else.

Despite the score being 4-1, I actually thought we didn't play bad. Arsenal are just a very good side. We had 4 shots on target which after the last few weeks is progress. Zaha at fault for the first two goals, pure laziness. Play like that v Leicester and we will get 3 points.

As I've said on here on another thread SP likes to be seen/known as the "Big Kahuna", covets the "Big Chair" and remunerates himself accordingly to the point he's the 3rd highest paid Director in the Premier League..!! Over to you SP - your decisions have led us to where we are right now - now can you prove your worth and get us out of it..?? Forget saving us in 2010 - that's gone, done and dusted - right here and now is what will define you..!! So aside from all the "egotistical" self promotion can you actually do the job - that you pay yourself so fabulously well to do - and get us out of this..?? Based upon track history I suspect not -but hope SP proves me wrong..!! Time will tell..!! COYP

As for Ahamada - we just paid £10.5M for him - that was in January - this is now March if he ain't ready to start now - when will he be bloody ready to start..?? Never heard so much mamby/pamby nonsense..!!
NO Be quiet money has nothing to do with it. Ahamada has played how many minutes in prem at senior level as of today 85min and you think its fine to just drop him in again currently the best team in this country under a temp manager. You have no clue jog on to the pub. Originally posted by southnorwoodhill

Those players was PV signings did he get every one he wanted no. People are making excuses one minutes its no backing next well manager didnt select the players. You have said about run down Hodgson yet look at the players still at the club who was around then and start Zaha Roy for many seasons had no problem finishing around 13th with far less resources and the players which are not near quality we have now. Your quote is the real question and looking at the starting players it was good spending Edited by grumpymort (19 Mar 2023 5.05pm)

It’s obvious we are going to be argueing amongst ourselves , the team is in free fall , there is no doubt about it , in my opinion after all my optimism is we are now definitely relegated , but let’s not turn on each other
“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder |
