Dazza in the latest news topic in Palace Talk has confirmed the same. Have just watched the 2023 highlights on you tube and have to say i am a little underwhelmed. He clearly has pace but the noticeable think to me is his strength and balance for someone of his physique and age. You can see that once he fills out a bit he is going to be very hard to knock off the ball. Much more of a midfielder than an out and out attacking player for me. Finishing look ok and seemed to beat players but turning them rather than out and out dribbling skills. A good sign we have beaten off competition from Newcastle and Chelsea for his signature. Does Roy speak Portuguse in his host of languages he can speak?

He's played around 30 first team games of professional football altogether. Why people think he's our saviour - I don't know. I'd say exciting for the future. However, look at Campana and Meyer. They had arguably played more at a much higher level. In fairness to Campana - he made a decent career in the end. God knows about Meyer but his Dad sure made some money and had a laugh. My first concern is I wouldn't be paying 25 mil for Franca. It's miles above the going rate. What we were offering is about right.

There is no way it’s a done deal with him being on the bench last night. It’s just unheard of. So I’m sorry to say, but whoever is telling Dazza this information, is making things up. It sounds to me more like the situation as it is being reported in the press, and that’s that we haven’t agreed a fee yet. Flamengo are heavily represented in the press over in Brazil. Much like our biggest clubs are over here. If there was a done deal, believe me it would be getting reported as such. Arsenal reportedly paying £8.5m for a player from Gremio at 23 years old.
