Yet again Garth Crooks has a dig at Crystal Palace!!!!

Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace): I saw the contact made by Joachim Andersen on Jefferson Lerma in Crystal Palace's 2-0 win over Bournemouth and could not believe no action was taken. It was made with a closed fist and landed square on Jefferson's nose and broke it. If it had been a middleweight boxing contest it would have scored three on the points card, and Jefferson would have been entitled to a count. In fact the player had to take one. I've seen some incompetence since the introduction of VAR but this takes some beating. While most of us were wondering how on earth the incident could have been judged to be anything other than a punch, the video assistant referee thought otherwise. Meanwhile Eberechi Eze was subjecting Bournemouth and thrilling the Crystal Palace crowd with his own brand of knockout blows. This kid looks better every time I see him. His second goal was a peach equalled only by the pass provided for him by Michael Olise. The way these two super youngsters are emerging at Palace is impressive. All they need now is a young manager to help them develop. Oh yes - they had one of them and decided to get rid of him.

What has the manager’s age got to do with what Eze and Olise need? Both have pretty much shown with their performances that Roy manages them better than Viera.

So suddenly Crooks and whoever "most of us" is supposed to mean, were sitting watching a live transmission of little old Palace playing a virtually meaningless end-of-season fixture, when some of his and the BBC's more favoured teams were playing at the same time. What am absolute bulls***ter and and absolute w***er.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Yes it's interesting to see that a black man is quite happy to resort to ageism, isn't it?

And the YOUNG manager we got rid of was?
If he means PV, well his method of development was to bench Eze.
I think Olise's defending has improved of recent (since Roy) and to a lesser extent Eze's

Garth Crooks is a bitter muppet who needs to understand that good players don't always make good managers and leave it at that.

Clueless and Classless. He can’t get over the fact that Palace had the audacity to sack the only black manager in the PL. The manager who was not playing Eze and when he did it was out of position.
If you wanted to be cynical, perhaps GC is being a tad racist in his comments:
A white defender breaks black player’s nose. No mention of said black players awful tackle on Hughes (White).
Caicedo (Black) was described as old school for his disgraceful tackle on Martinelli abd was basically praised for it.
He should be reminded that, as a club, we must have the highest % of young black player in the league.
These pundits need to come to terms with the fact PV was not up to the job. I note GC hasn’t recommended PV for the Spurs job

I really do think this guy is loosing the plot, his ramblings have nothing to do with picking the 11 best player’s performances from the weekend’s round of matches. Very strange behaviour indeed.

Indeed Becky.

It was more a flailing arm than anything. I don’t think anybody who has competed in, or even actually watched a pugilist contest would for one second qualify it as a ‘punch’. I’ve seen far more concerning elbows which may very well, and often do, fall in the category of ‘instinctive but without intent’. I don’t see any evidence of Joachim trying to punch Lerma, it was an unusual result of much and often seen shirt pulling and jostling. Im quite confident of that.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
