MOTD Goals of the season mostly rubbish!

Palace scored some incredible goals this season and we didn't get one in the top 10. It seems if a player can do a decent volley he'll probably get the royal nod. Utter tripe!

I gave up watching MOTD or caring about what they said years ago, any positive views relate almost exclusively to the top 6 or 7 teams, everyone else in the PL that appear on their program are just there to make up the numbers.

I have only watched match of the day once in the last couple of years and that was when there was no presenters. I dont think we even won goal of the season when townsend hit that volley against city.

The ones on the PL website [Link] include Olise against United. All the goals are good but none of them are spectacular.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Couldn't agree more,MOD over the weekend was its usual condescending self,and hardly gave us a mention again,it really is to regular that we are the last game,l just watch the recording of our game in the morning and dump the rest.

I couldn’t believe it, it’s not like they were a distant memory from before the World Cup break, Eze and Olise could’ve had their own competition since January alone. I often wonder what melons put MOTD together now. Must be a Weed fan who has the final say. I know we’re all biased, but surely one of our goals would’ve got in there Edited by monkey (31 May 2023 5.46pm)

I think the MOTD ones are all goal of the month aren't they? Even though I have a feeling there was two from May. So you could have 2 amazing goals in January, but if one comes second then it won't make the shortlist for Goal Of The Season. Regardless, it's a public vote to pick the top 3, and then the presenters choose the winner. So there's an element of a popularity contest, even though I think the Brighton guy won it.

No-one is obliged to watch it. The pundits, whoever they are, will be just as likely to have partialities as the fans who watch it. IE us.
