Just been released by Arsenal, so therefore a free agent, 25yo on loan at Soton last season.

Thoughts/Possabilitys?

He's had his moments but never really pushed on or had any consistency. An interesting one is that he does play full back - so could possibly fill that need. However, I see him at one of the promoted sides, Forest or an aspiring Championship side.

Have we really come that far? Were saints fans saying similar on their forums 12 months ago?

A while back he was highly rated but it's been a couple of years in all fairness. He's possibly better than Clyne or Ward, in that he would be quicker but he hasn't exactly set the world alight. Ward's done well so even that's debatable. Don't know what saints fans were saying but he didn't do much to save them.

Ha yes should have said Leicester fans!

I was referring to us turning our noses up at mediocrity good only for the newly promoted.

We're comfortable mid table mate. Maybe looking up rather than down. Personally, I reckon Maitland Miles might be alright. It's the might bit that made me think newly promoted, Forest or Championship. If he was a consistent Premier League performer I don't suppose he would have been let go that easily. If we're not going to buy anyone perhaps we should try and loan Nelson - who it looks like Arsenal will retain.

Wish I had your confidence. We now have a top 7. All the other 13 are drop potential including us.

Leicester!!!
