We had him too… but I thought he was excellent. If Ventola stayed fit and played all season may have been a different story! That one goal against saints almost made him were it not for bad defending at the back post! Sorondo was a classy player, could certainly play in our team now. Ventola was a crying shame, what a player to have at palace.

The next couple of weeks are crucial to where this club is heading. We need a good striker and a good replacement for Olise. Not players who took teams down last season or untried youngsters who have never played in this country. If we do not make significant signings we will be in a relegation battle.

Unfortunately what you describe are out of our price range. The more worrying prospect is that I don’t think we have seen the last player to leave yet. I fully expect another to go.
