Feel free to disagree, but Ward Prowse would have been a good buy.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I know exactly what you're saying (and in some ways agree), but he's got the two assists today which may lead to victory.

We've turned down an 8m bid for Mateta apparently/
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

From what I've seen Gallagher is an impressive player but more so within teams that are more direct. I think he suited our style down to the ground but less so Chelsea's. Allegedly Chelsea keen to offload. But no queue of suitors. CG can't be happy at Chelsea. Regular games but not a happy ship. I thought potch would change things but still issues at the Bridge. I would say CG spent the happiest time of his career with us and may take a huge pay cut to revive that. This suggests we wait till the dying embers of the window to make a low bid of the £20m variety. However 3 misgivings. One, not pulling up trees at Chelsea and the latter part of his time with us causes me to ponder. Two, he thrived under Vieira. Would he under Roy? Three, if Chelsea were really keen to offload, with their £multi billion squad why do they keep starting him? Thus, I can see them holding firm for a price we can't afford and/or us breaking our transfer record for a player we don't want. Conversely, e.g. £25 million and £70k per week for that CG who won our POTY would be pants-pulled-down business in today's crazy market.
