There’s the best part of a month to go before the window shuts. We’ve been linked with players from goalkeepers to centre forwards both coming in and going out. My guess is we can’t afford to buy players without selling some so in some cases we’ve made approaches for players as insurance for when/if the big boys come calling for our centre backs or midfielders. In other cases we’re waiting for clubs to take players we want to offload like Mateta for example before we can splash what little cash we have. It’s entirely possible none of our best players will go and we won’t buy anyone else or it may all happen suddenly in a couple of weeks time. Meantime loans like this guy Kossounou with an option to buy next season when we will lose some of our better. players make sense.

What makes this a bit different IMO is the possibility / probability of losing so many players whilst signing so few. It looked at the end of last season as though giving he job to Roy and getting two better full backs (not difficult) and a rangy centre forward who could head a ball and stretch the opposition would leave us looking really decent even without Wilf. Yet we fannied about deciding on a manager, the squad looks shocking and the Boardroom situation still messy. Zaha's last minute tinpot decision will have unsettled the better players. It feels like a really badly missed opportunity.

Lot of pant wetting going on. Luka left - became a liability, not prem standard any more. Jimmy Mac - injured all last season, great player in his day but no loss. Wilf - difficult to replace, but his best days are behind him, which I think he knows. Lerma - In on a free, decent player. Lewis Hall - If we get him, decent addition, in on a free. With the right to buy, then a good piece of business. Ahamada - Like a new addition. Decent from what I have seen pre-season. Could do a job. Franca - Who knows. Need to hang on to our best, get them properly contracted and without buy-out clauses. Badly need a striker. Would love to offload Oduard, who in my opinion is massively out of his depth.

We don't need "a striker" we need two or three, Olise is as good as gone by most accounts and Zaha already has. Good luck persuading everyone else. You say that there is a lot of pant wetting going on then the rest of your post justifies it

His math related to this new stand has never added up. Remember this is the man who is taking a nice sum out of the club through his salary plus his sub companies. He is also the man who has allowed us to be spending almost all TV money on wages alone we are one of the worst when it comes to wages to income. We have been in this league for decade and he is still happy to just survive awful attitude. Commercial wise we are poor it's puzzling we have multi American owners who have involvement with sports yet we do not even sell Merch outside the club shop (Shirts distribution should be multi territories or retailers) The club feels so amateur this is why we are not taken serious.
