In my mind Wilf is the greatest player ever to pull on a Palace shirt. Ian Wright has forgotten he ever played for us. No contest

Sorry misread the OP's post. Which departure hurt me most? Wright because his departure whilst he still had years of greatness still before him led to the end of a dream of real possibilities for the club. Wilf gave us his best but is now well past his best and so I don't feel any hurt at all. Edited by doombear (24 Jul 2023 9.52pm)

For that semi final at Brighton, for his sheer talent, his outstanding contribution to our decade of top flight football and his genuine passion for the club... please stand up Mr Zaha

We knew Wright was on his wayout and we have had the best of Wilf and to be honest was not looking forward to seeing a further decline of his abilities that has been quite obvious in recent years . He has gone at the right time . Yannicks move to Everton was the one that got me , the arrow through the heart ,the thought of never again seeing those silky skills and massive smile ,given away for a few quid to build a new stand ,f joke .
And we still need a striker |

Neither for me . I prefer a player who stays loyal to his club and doesnt turn and run for a fiver more or a silver plate . Joel Ward leaving would have hurt me more .
Dad, do you know the piano's on my foot? You hum it son, I'll play it! |

Without doubt Wright, he had this best playing days ahead of him and it destroyed the club spirit, Wilf has had his best days and will not, IMHO will not be missed.
RIP Dad, i will miss you terribly, at least you dont have to watch the Palace any more |

Not even close, Wrighty for me, he was in his prime when he left, Wilf’s best years are behind him. Also we’ll survive Wilf leaving, we all knew when Wrighty left it was the beginning of the end of that great team. Brighty looked lost without him, as did the whole team Edited by monkey (25 Jul 2023 8.48am)

Hope we don Repeat the same mistake when we sold Ian Wright and panic buy the first replacement we could, in this case Marco Gabbiadini.

Wilf deserves his chance for a new adventure. So goes with fond memories But yes, Wrighty hurt at the time more, even more so because we let him go so cheaply!
