Largely as posted - but my thoughts: a) Shame O Brien went he would have been perfect fora game like Plymouth, I would have rather have seen him alongside Richards than Tompkins (nothing specifically against Tomkins its just O Brien was more representative of our future rather than our past) b) I would probably give J Ayew the day off to rest given his contributions to PL matchdays.

Nobody who starts on Saturday will feature v Plymouth , it will be a mixture of squad players and juniors Might need to put a few square pegs in round holes such is lack of depth in the squad

Roy will definitely shuffle the pack, but although it’s a banana skin, I still think we’ll have too much for them, even though it’ll take till the second half when he’ll bring on the big guns. Well when I say big guns, I mean big gun, Eze

So, doubt very much they will be involved on Tues.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I think Rak-Sakyi has to start. Presumably Mateta, Reidewald, Clyne, Tomkins. Hopefully Richards and Ahamada. Of the youngsters maybe Ozoh and perhaps Gordon. Henderson might be here by then but presumably won't start. If Mitchell and Ayew start, that would be poor as they can't play every game in the whole season. Andersen was in the wars so needs to be rested. Guehi could possibly start as we don't have O'Brien. Johnstone

And as usual a number of youngsters have been loaned out for the season or sold.

I am going as it’s by far the closest ground to where I live. Going with 2 other local Palace diehards who, like me spent many afternoons on the Holmesdale terracing 65 years ago. I can tell you that Plymouth are well up for this, are playing well and are expected to field a strong side. I am though a lucky omen. I don’t get to many games, all of them away, and haven’t seen a defeat for quite a while. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (27 Aug 2023 9.56pm)
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
