Henderson In - Johnstone Out Total difference = Absolutely none

I'm expecting Henderson in, providing Man Utd get their replacement goalkeeper and nothing else. It's taken 9 weeks to get in a (albeit great) free transfer and a crocked youngster. I can't see anything else happening in 36 hours. Parish is very shrewd. Announce Henderson on the last day and it will deflect from the lack of a left winger striker, and back up left back that we are crying out for. Squad has as many holes as the one that started last year.

Henderson and Townsend in. Other than that nothing….the paper thin squad will have to survive with younger players added when we don’t have enough to fill bench. It’s to late now for anything else.

I suspect that is correct. Only big money talks now and we don't have that. The only deal this late will be a loan from a bigger team eager to shift but not finding a buyer. Henderson will be announced tomorrow and then it is all about plugging the gaps. On a positive, still seeing plenty of clickbait on our best players, but no real evidence of departure. If that remains the case by deadline tomorrow (IF), then this may actually turn out to be a better window than I would have hoped. Proof positive that we are not a selling club open to be plundered by those with deeper pockets.

it is worrying that other than the Leeds winger we are not even being linked with left sided players to replace Wilf. If money is so limited the move for Henderson seems a little odd.

The crazy prices demanded this window for anyone half decent has put an enormous strain on a fiscally middling club trying to operate in this league with a semblance of prudent, sustainability. I am being boring and repeating myself, but given the prices, this window should be defined not by who we acquire but by who we retain.

So right, the usual quote will be added. I still think its a tactic to deflect from the bad news with some good. Try to put a positive spin on things. I’d have Andros back for a year solely to fill out the squad. Would do a job off the bench. Seems a good character. Only downside would be restriction to JRS. I’m not convinced JRS will make the grade but I know most would disagree.
