Their doctor is just trying to cover himself for declaring him fit when they signed the contract. I loved Wilf and was the first to defend him while he was here. But now he isn’t. We move on.

Who are the others on a pay per game basis in the Premier League. No one right now. I believe Owen Hargreaves was offered such a contract. Andy Carroll had one I think.

No but i do expect a bit of knowledge before you start spouting off bollox that you know nothing about without something to back it up without going back 10 or 15 years . Do you really think Wilf will accaept a pay as you play contract and if you do can i have a list of your reasons why he would .

Here's Gary Lewin talking about it if you want to learn about them. Starts at 1:10:35 "A medical is not to decide if someone is fit to sign or not. A medical is a risk assessment for the club.... Some clubs use a red, green, amber system. We use a 5 point grade system. A grade 5 is a very high risk. A grade 1 is a very low risk. And then we give that back to the club. It's not a yes or no".

Wilf has been playing first team football in almost every year since he was sixteen, that means ware and tear in any one’s language. Serious muscle problems never do leave no trace, and judging a return to full fitness is not an exact science even to this day.

I don't presume to know the likelihood of it happening. You need to lighten up old son.

It's a simple term but it's real meaning is the person will get a low set wage lets say 25 thousand and when they play it will bring it in line with every one else so say rest are on 80 thousand. Many years ago when this first came out the clubs wanted to only pay when they played and it was rejected that if under contract a person should be getting for the league minimum salary. Some one mentioned about Wilf coming back early or not eased back in this was his choice and I expect it was based on wanting to leave having long periods out doesn't look good also he wants to be the main man (The last few times we looked better without him) Medicals are tick boxes and then if currently injured it will be accessed and presented for a club/insurance if they will take it on. I can see Wilf struggling because at Palace he was looked after on every level when Roy returned the first training session Wilf was gassed and had to rest half way through that is not a good sign now he has stepped up to another club they will have different training plus fitness/physical levels which he naturally may not be able to handle.

Stop being so damned rational, and correct about the 'pay as you play' myth. It freaks me out to read a post from you that doesn't make me angry!
