Click bait says that Newcastle will sell for £18m, we haven't been linked with him yet but I would go for him at that price. Yes he is 31 so the wrong age but we need someone who is oven ready and he is a hard working regular goalscorer. If we could get 3 years out of him I would say that's a bargain. Sometimes you have to compromise your principles, we would all love an 18yo striker who in a couple of years.... Thoughts

I like him as a brave get in there, make a nuisance of yourself type of front man, but he does seem to have been out through injury a lot in the last couple seasons - Newcastle - before the money rolled in - were desperately toothless up front when he was out injured so it really noticed.

He is thirty -two next month which is too old to splash eighteen million,in fact that would be against club policy. Newcastle are selling for a reason. If he were a horse it is glue factory time.

PS in this tightening market, who would pay £18m for a 32 year old striker? They will never get that. If he moves at all, a last day move for under £10m, I suspect. And not to us.

I’d welcome him for £15m. Imagine him playing with Olise and Eze. He knows he’d play regularly for Palace and would maximise his chances of getting into Southgate’s squad. Edited by XKudu (26 Jan 2024 10.42am)
