Agreed. Cooper and Potter are mid to bottom table managers who do they think will offer a better job?

I think a key aspect for our longer term sustainability and success will be better utilisation of our academy and promising young players who we have brought into the Club. For this to truly bear fruit you need a manager who is not only able the have the courage to give them opportunities, but also able to nurture tans get the best out of them. For this reason I think Cooper has something to offer.

Also he strikes me as a decent man. Which is why I donít see him considering a job when the position is already held by another Man. Especially someone so respected in the game.

Wouldnít get me excited for the next few campaigns as much as some other options but I reckon heíd do a decent job. Did well with Swansea and Forest and there are valid reasons for the poor run that led to him getting the sack there.

He wanted the job before and I really see ZERO reason to believe any of the nonsense being written in the media about nobody wanting the job now. Itís silly to suggest it.

I honestly cannot see any rational reason for SP not pulling the trigger now - other than they already have an agreement with Royís successor and he wonít (or canít take it sooner)ÖÖ.REALLY hope that doesnít mean Southgate.

I was thinking this. Perhaps if it is the case Maybe it could be a good idea that Parish could let us know so all the toxicity goes and we all get back behind roy and the boys one last time.

obviously it could be the case that the managers cant be named for legal reasons until the the summer by their former employers.

I'd say he is still gettig a wage from Forest and as soon as he take another job that will stop and knowing Steve he is offering nowhere near what Cooper was on at Forest .

That all sounds wonderful, but there is a major problem with your theory. Any manager who takes over is immediately under pressure to deliver results, so who are they going to play experienced or inexperienced players at Premier level. If youíre mid table in the Championship you can play youth to get experience, not in the Premier in the last third of the season, when points are vital.
They will still have the same problem as Roy, 4 key players injured, 3 of them constantly injured, so you canít build a team method of play as always different personnel.
Keeping Roy until the summer is the favourite option.

I think a lot are slipping into that anyone but Roy state of mind, myself included. Iím not sure about Cooper, but is there anyone out there better that would want the job? I really donít think there is

With respect, Steve Parish is under no obligation to provide any running commentary on such events.

He's under no obligation. And he tends to go into his shell when times get tough.

So we are left speculating as to what his next move is. Which is what I did.

In which case Parish is either looking for a caretaker manager for the rest of the season or he's sticking with Hodgson.

If it's the latter, what's stopping him from publicly saying so ?

I take your point Painter.
But if we just look slightly longer term (something that the club hasnít done very well) and consider that IF as a consequence of adopting an approach to give youth more opportunities- we do get relegated there are reasons to be optimistic about coming straight back up - with the continuity of the same manager (Cooper is proven at Championship level) and those young players having gained game time and experience in the process.

Obviously Iíd HATE us to go down- but we only have to look at Leicester, Southampton and Leeds for some comfort. They have all sold assets to generate cash but have kept the nucleus of their squads, as a result they all look set to bounce straight back up.

Agree,Cooper would be a brilliant choice as to keep us up this season may be a step too far,but he has the credentials to get us straight back up at the first time of asking.
What is there not to like??

I'm not really seeing the logic in hiring a man who recently got sacked for nearly getting Forest relegated. Different players involved of course, but hardly encouraging.

He might be a good man for the Championship, but that is not what is needed right now.

The longer there's radio silence from Parish indicates that he's finding it hard to get someone to take the job. If indeed he is even genuinely looking !

Cooper didn't get the job before, has he done much of merit to warrant consideration now ?

The danger is appointing someone now just to replace Hodgson rather than get the best man for the job in the fullness of time.

I think this is a good case for a ' firefighter ' but there doesn't appear to be any out there.

Big Fat Sam as short term fire fighter maybe? Parish loves kicking the can down the road. Certainly doesnít have strong balls when the going gets tough

Yes, I don't see Mini Cooper as any kind of answer.
