Great to see Moxey still plugging on at Torquay...
Must about 38/39 now???
I liked the bloke and maybe not the most gifted gave it all for Palace whilst he was here....
Left us after we got promotion to the premiership and never got to play premiership football sadly...
Personally I think we should have kept him on until the next transfer window so he could have least come off the bench and had his moment in the prem with Palace....

"Numb, gutted and shocked . Three words that sum up how I feel."
"Passionate, principled, genius. Three words that sum up Joe Strummer"
Martin Scorcese, Film director.

He played 20 games for us in the Prem, his contract ended after our first season in the league.

Great achievement for him to make it to that level, and very impressive he's still going!

Yes he did. First game up v Spurs, we lost 1-0 with a penalty given away by him.

I say "given away", as the rules made it so. They were changed after that partly as a consequence of how daft the rules were to have gifted Spurs what was an undeserved win.

I don't remember the incident at all - what was changed in the rules?

I think I remember it was Soldado who scored the pen

Think he had the assist when Gayle scored a screamer in the end at Villa Park and we won 1-0.

Saw him play for Torquay last season against Bromley and he still looked in good shape and liked getting forward along the left flank

It was handball was it? Where the ball was kicked into his shoulder is what I seem to remember - just off the top of my head.

The ball hit Moxey's arm which was stretched out for balance - first one of that kind I'd seen given.

It didn't seem fair did it. But that's the life of a Palace fan.

The prevalent opinion has been that Dean Moxey's strength is going forward rather than defending.
Long throw and has scored from free kicks from distance.
He is now aged 38.
He was resident in Keston when he ploughed his furrow for us.

If I remember correctly the ball was crossed and Moxey threw himself at the cross, it hit his thigh and then up onto his arm.
How the hell it was a penalty I'll never know.
First time of many, we would fall foul to big team bias.
