After the vastly improved performances under OG, it does make me wonder what on earth Hodgson & Co were doing for the previous 12 months. The players look like they’re enjoying their jobs again.

Probably using his methods and experiences of some time ago, which were a little bit outdated at the end of his days with us. Football has changed so much since the haydays of his career. As another poster mentioned, players are like race-horses nowadays, days were you can start players slightly injured, don’ t care too much about their required physical condition, nutrition, recreation times etc are over. Don’t get me wrong, Roy was a fantastic manager and I rate him highly, but his contributions at the end were probably the same as mine would have been in my profession, had I opted to stay in business until his age of retirement.

West Ham won't be the last lot that would rather be anywhere else today when facing Oliver's Army

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Can't help thinking that Eze would have done his hamstring scoring his goal yesterday a few months back

"Genuine question": why isn't it 'Ollieball' or something similar and more akin to 'Royball', using the coach's first name?

Sorry, but this sounds like the favourite pastime of the smurfs.

Particularly on their holidays when they like nothing better than a game of beach Ollieball.

It also sounds like Oily Ball. A condition to be avoided.
Glaz Ball is a similar affliction.

a great win yesterday and how nice it is to see Palace actually attack from the get go. I did think West Ham might start slowly after playing on Thursday but didn't expect Palace to really take the game to them as well as we did.

It is also nice to see how certain players have improved under OG - Mateta, Lerma and Hughes (who i thought was a spent force - now i'd be happy to see him sign a new contract).

Just a general point. Fitness has definitely improved, which whilst good to see makes me wonder what has gone on previously as we are a professional club with fitness experts and dieticians etc. Why were they not already fit?

Being a Palace fan - we have seen this before. Under Roy first season when we beat Leicester 5-0 you could see how months of steady improvement had produced a really exciting side. That was short lived. Similarly Roy at the end of last season got Palace, especially Eze and Olise, playing really well and then by August we were unrecognisable from that side.

Hopefully OG can keep the momentum going, but this summer is a big one for both incoming and outgoings.

I'm one of those who opted for "Glasball". Why? Because it rhymes with cricket's "Bazball" and is just as entertaining. Sorry but Ollie Ball? Definitely not for reasons others have stated.

In conversation today with a member of the media we were discussing the Henderson howler.

He was fortunate that the 'Faux pas' occurred when we were 5-1 to the good.Had this incident occurred in the dying embers of the game to provide the opposition with a winning goal, Henderson would have faced shot and shell on HOL with high-grade ordnance dropped on him.

And rightly so. Just showed a complete lack of concentration. Whilst on the subject of Henderson he appears not to want to come for the ball do fans think he has been told by the coaches to hug his goal line.ZcOYP

Yes can you imagine if he’d done it late up at Anfield after all the hard work, not sure I was too keen on the pair of them(Andersen and him I mean, not Mitchell) laughing about it either, but let’s give him the benefit, I’d like to think it wouldn’t have happened if we weren’t in cruise mode, so I’m not going to crucify him
