Provisional squad named today .Will Southgate who isnt inspiring anyone stay with his tried and trusted failures of past competitions or will there be a few surprise inclusions ?

Im expecting Guehi ,Eze and maybe given the problems at left back Mitchell to be included in the 30 for the Freindlies v Herza Bosnia whatever they are called and Iceland .

Henderson has an outside chance but bar injuries don't expect him to make the final cut

Other surprises could include RLC and Tomori if they are not full of spaghetti and dare I mention young Wharton who read the much talked about and sure to be included Mainoo a new future just a couple of weeks ago .

Come on Gareth , dump the losers and pick the form guys . We can win this .

Obviously biased but I'm very much Liking the squad picked by Southgate, particularly leaving out previous shoo-ins Henderson, Rashford and Phillips.
Going with inform players like Wharton, Palmer and Gordon is the way to go.
Hearing Southgate speak after the provisional squad announcement, he talks a lot of sense and knows what England need to win but unfortunately his gameplay management/personality will again see England fall short. Really hope I'm wrong though.

Yep Southgate has finally got rid of the dross . Hope this means a more adventurous game plan with more players from clubs that press high up the pitch than ones that sit back . Good squad that hasn't really missed anyone out that deserves to be in it .

the Euro's are often more entertaining than the World Cup.....no mediocre teams participating.

Has Southgate got anyone in his coaching staff who knows the fast game like we are learning? The players are available to play it. If England throw off the shackles, just like Palace did we could really fly.
Maybe Gareth really will chase the dragon and go for it.

Mostly agree...although even Rashford at 50% is better than the rat, Gordon. Should be nowhere near the team.

No is the short answer to that .

His coaches are defensive plodders hope for a goal merchants . His no 1 Steve Holland previously worked under the likes of Mourinho ,Benetez and Conte at Chelsea .
Paul Nevin ,full time at West Ham and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank sacked by Burton Albion make up his team .
Looking at that lot its hardly surprising the football is a bit drab but we live in hope .

However promising our squad looks (before the cut) We've still got a manager who has proven to be useless at game management and use of subs.
It'll be the same as it ever Was; Plan A will be good - and we'll look good early on, then will lose to the first side we meet in the knockout stages with anything about them. Probably Germany (again) this time round.

Apparently when England lose you are not allowed to show an image of a black player.

And if we win does the same thing apply?

What is wrong with these people ? Nobody and I guarantee nobody sees that picture as anything other than the manager of England and an England player .
Those that see it as an attack on a player because he is black need to give their heads a wobble , honestly Im a bit sick of it and sadly Ian Wright is one of the worst culprits ,maybe its what working for the BBC does to people .

Been watching the MOTD BBC classic matches on I-player and plenty of appearances from our very own Wayne Hennessy. A mixed bag of performances to be fair to him.
I expect to see Adam Wharton make his name this tournament.

Following Palace since 25 Feb 1978
