I guess they're going for Armagh?

Not sure, I'd say it'd be split fairly evenly as we're right on the border.

In Ireland, every county has a distinctive accent from the others. Often delineated by rivers. You can get coffee in one village, drive across a bridge, and hear a different tone in a coffee shop on the other side.

Because the history of counties was all Clans, chieftains and surnames....the geneticists are also able to spot distinct counties in the DNA sequencing.

Gaelic Footy.

In normal footy, when you lose its expressed in goals. In Gaelic, to lose is like getting beaten up. They don't bother with shin-pads cos most of the action happens higher up the body.

They can touch the ball with any part of the body except the head. Hence much less concussions & longterm brain damage. Its less often that two lads clash heads in the air.

You cannot clutch the ball to the chest, nor run holding the ball for more than a couple of steps. It is obligatory to bounce or kick the ball every few steps.

The are many parallels with the village-to-village type football seen in England around 500 years ago. Organised mayhem.

They will play in the Ulster Championship with Armagh, whilst Galway play in the Connacht championship. The GAA is regionalised - with a regional champion from the four provinces - Leinster, Munster, Connacht, Ulster - they then meet in knockouts for the All Ireland. There is usually rivalry between closer sides that may disappear when one gets closer to the final. I'd say Tyrone are supporting their fellow Ulster team. They probably have a bit of a siege mentality as a lot of Southern pundits do not like the perceived Ulster style of play.
I'm going to have to get some flags. Wish I'd done my drive with the power washer. Our road is mad - bunting out, the whole shebang.

while the cat's away, the mice will play.

Alaister McAlaister is looking to assert his dominance while Seamus & Caoimhin are watching the match.

My personal preference would for Catholic & Protestant to slug it out on the sportsfield. Batter each other for 90 minutes and all go off and have a pint together. Sadly, like the USA & Soviet Union....they cannot even agree on what sports to play.

I got my couple of flags from a traveller. Wasn't even much of a rip off. I would have haggled but a fiver each is fair enough. I've a couple out now but there's a row of houses over the road putting me to shame. I'm wondering whether to watch it in the pub now or can I handle it that busy.

I'm a Derry man but will be wearing my Armagh 2002 jersey tomorrow. Hope Armagh do it. I played Gaelic for 15 years. Number 6. Lasted about 2 years of senior football. So much dedication involved in playing at club level never mind county. If Galway win I won't mind as it's a great place with good folk. Unlike Dublin.lol. The scenes will be mad tomorrow if. Armagh win. It's a great sport but the defensive displays the last few years and extra matches in the championship have taken away the edge of the all Ireland.

The best thing about Gealic is the community. There would be a player playing Infront of 80k people at croke park then a day or two later delivering your post as his job as a post man.

3:30 today, the kickoff.....or as we call it 'the throw-in'.

Galway versus Armagh. Find it in any decent sports-bar near you.

Anybody with Spanish DNA must support Galway, thats where the Armada shipwrecked. Any Welsh Eagles can support Armagh as their countryman St Patrick is buried there. Scottish eagles who speak Gallic will understand Armagh Gaelic. Easier than Galway Gaelic.

The name 'Armagh' refers to high ground or land with altitude. Therefore any Nepalese Sherpa's watching are welcome to embrace that team.

Serbian Eagles ( or those from Kosovo ) are welcome to support Galway as the two respective flags look vaguely similar and are both traditionally run up a flagpole.

The English can feicoff

Why is Irish grass greener than English grass?
Because they're all over here walking on ours.
