Trevor Francis will name an unchanged squad from last week's win at Barnet for the visit to Bournemouth tonight.
Clinton Morrison and Gregg Berhalter have been told by Francis to complete a full-week's training before joining the team.
Kit Symons, Jamie Smith, Aki Riihilahti, Julian Gray and Ade Akinbiyi are all injured and the match will give Francis to run his eye over some of the younger players.
Francis said: "I won't be putting Morrison and Berhalter back in just yet. They only rejoined training on Monday and my instructions to them are to do a full week's training.
"And then hopefully, come next Monday, they'll be able to join the main group with a view to coming with us down to Wales, where we play en route Cheltenham Town, then we have three or four days training down in Cardiff before we play Swansea on the Friday night."
Meanwhile, Palace will be up against a familiar face in Steve Kember's son Robert, who was released by Palace at the end of last season.
The 20-year-old midfielder is on trial at Bournemouth hoping to impress for a permanent move and cannot wait to play his old teammates.
He said: "It will be interesting to play against my old team and will be nice to get one over them. I'm grateful to be down here having a chance at another league club and I'm eager to make the most of it.
"Hopefully something can come of it so I can get some experience of league football. At my age I need to be playing to help progress my game and improve.
"I'm an honest hard working player and don't like losing. This gives me the motivation to go out and perform on a regular basis."
