Portsmouth's tough-tackling midfielder Shaun Derry is in talks with Palace today.

The transfer on the table is believed to be £400,000 rising to £600,000 based on appearances.

The Pompey midfielder was put on the transfer list this summer after growing unsettled at Fratton Park after Graham Rix's departure from the club.

Derry made more than 50 appearances for Pompey after signing from Sheffield United in March 2000, and was made skipper by Rix.
