Tony Popovic should make his return to the side after recovering from his achiles injury for the home clash against Ipswich.

Ben Watson has an infection on his ingrowing toenail and has been ruled out, while Jamie Smith should be in the squad after overcoming his groin injury.

Michael Hughes should regain his place in the side after not playing in Saturday's game against Rotherham. He missed two days' training last week due to his compensation hearing.

Ipswich midfielder Alan Mahon will sit the game out with a hamstring strain, so youngster Ian Westlake is set to take his place.

Captain Jim Magilton is a doubt after bruising his calf in Town's match against Stoke on Saturday. Tommy Miller will replace him if need be.
