Dowie to sign extension

Iain Dowie is set to sign a four-year extension to his current contract next week.

Dowie will put pen to paper on a four-year deal - according to his representative Mick McGuire.

McGuire who is the PFA deputy chief, said discussions were at an advanced stage.

"Iain is pleased with the way talks are progressing and is looking forward to making a new commitment," he said.

"I would say we are quite far down the road and we shall be meeting again early next week, when hopefully the contract will be signed.
